Chef Benjamin Ash is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York. After schooling, Ash worked at American Seasons on Nantucket Island, Massachusetts and Le Bec Fin in Philadelphia. At Le Bec Fin, he met his mentor Greg Gable whom Ash followed to Lancaster County. Ash mentored under Greg Gable for the next five years. From a snack off our light fare menu to a multi-course dinner Chef Ash takes pride in preparing food for his Black Horse customers.

Creative cuisine, unique spirits, hand-crafted microbrews, hand-selected wines, affordable prices, and friendly, welcoming service all add up to the new approach at The Black Horse Restaurant and Tavern. Stop in for a relaxing drink before dinner or join us for your special evening. Tavern specials are now offered every night with generous discounts on drinks from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm and menu selections for only $6.95. Enjoy a delicious starter with one of our signature martinis or choose your favorite cocktail.

Our Tavern offers an extensive selection of spirits, including single malt scotches, bourbons and cognacs and features many choices of popular and unique liquors. Our bartenders are true Mixologists. They are always creating unique drinks to compliment your meals. We offer a variety of flavorful and mouth watering liquid desserts. Try our Black Horse Coffee, made with Baileys Irish Cream, Frangelico, cinnamon Schnapps, and coffee, topped with whipped cream and chocolate shavings. During the summer months, the bartenders create signature Mojitos, such as an Asian Pear Mojito, made with fresh ingredients.

We are passionate about offering full flavored, hand- crafted microbrews. A descriptive list of our draft beers is available in our beer, liquor and wine list. We have an inventory upwards of 35 popular brands offered by bottle or in six packs available for take-out.

Our wine list is always evolving in order to compliment your meal. We have Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter menus. We use our wine expert to carefully hand-select the wines for each menu. We maintain at least ten house wines at all times for your pleasure.
